Brendan is the Founder and Managing Director of BFS Nationwide and BFS Workboats. While he has spent over three decades in precision engineering and fabrication, he also has over fourteen years of experience building BFS Nationwide into a respected UK fabrication company. A Company that delivers innovative solutions across construction, marine projects, bespoke manufacturing, and environmental protection. His newest venture brings a long-held passion to the forefront: designing and boat building.
Originally from Ireland, Brendan began his career as a young apprentice in welding, fabrication and precision engineering, developing the technical foundation and problem-solving mindset that continue to guide his work today. His leadership has shaped BFS Nationwide into a company known for creativity, precision, and reliability. Brendan personally oversees every project, ensuring quality, accountability, and attention to detail from start to finish.
Brendan’s enthusiasm for the marine sector led him to establish BFS Workboats, a company dedicated to the design and manufacture of robust HDPE vessels. This venture allows him to combine decades of engineering expertise with a genuine passion for boatbuilding—creating durable, practical workboats built to meet real-world challenges with smart, future-focused design.
Joanna oversees finance, accounts, and the overall administration of the business. Originally from Newcastle, Joanna has over 30 years of experience in retail and hospitality, giving her a strong foundation in both financial management and customer service.
Joanna is known for her attention to detail and organizational skills, and plays a key role in keeping the business running smoothly and efficiently while upholding high standards of professionalism.
Joanna works alongside her husband, Brendan Kane, the founder of BFS Nationwide, and together they continue to drive the company’s growth and success.
Trish has oversight of HR, Communications and Systems at BFS Nationwide. Bringing over 25 years of experience in human service management across the UK, Ireland, and Australia. Trish has spent more than two decades in service management roles, building her career around developing effective management systems, supporting people, developing teams, and fostering positive workplace cultures.
Lyndsey is the Office Administrator at BFS Nationwide, bringing over 15 years’ experiencefrom across industries ranging from small businesses to larger-scale manufacturing companies. With a strong background in administration and operations, Lyndsey plays a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
In this role, Lyndsey manages office systems and processes, coordinates schedules and communications, maintains records and documentation, and provides additional support to staff generally. Lyndsey is a central point of contact for staff, clients, and suppliers, helping to ensure the business runs efficiently and effectively.
Sam is an experienced CAD Designer with a strong foundation in the steel and HDPE fabrication sectors. Skilled in producing accurate technical drawings, detailed 3D models, and fabrication-ready designs, Sam has a solid understanding of manufacturing processes,geometrics, and industry standards and is known for adapting design skills across materials and supporting projects from concept through to production.
